PAULINE THEOLOGY IN EARLY AND CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIANITY

On completing the course, the student will be able to

  • Discuss Paul’s main life events (pre-conversion, conversion, post conversion) and comment on major areas of his theology (monotheism and the cosmos, anthropology, Christology, soteriology, pneumatology, ethical transformation, ecclesiology, eschatology).
  • Understand the development of the above-mentioned themes in early and contemporary Christianity.
  • Acquire an understanding of the various theological debates regarding the major areas of Paul’s theology and their development.

Integrate the major theological debates with a pastoral as well as missional perspective which is necessary for a complete evaluation of each theological position.
