Patristic and Systematic Theology

After completing the course, students are expected to be able to give correct answers from an orthodox point of view to specific, essential and urgent questions concerning:

  • the different theological conditions of the Fathers of the Church over the theological prerequisites of Scholasticism and Protestantism,
  • the origin and development of philosophical reflection within the doctrinal teaching of the Fathers of the Church, and the existence of their pioneering contribution to addressing philosophical problems of their time with timely significance, and
  • the importance of Patristic Theology for resolving theological issues that are of concern to our age as well.
