On completing the course the students will be able to:

• understand main second level theological notions of the course “Ecumenical Theology (Inter-Christian & Inter-Orthodox relations)”
• understand the current situation in the Ecumenical Movement
• gain an understanding of the bilateral dialogues of the Orthodox Church
• be aware of traditional issues as well as contemporary issues that affect the relations between the Orthodox Churches
• critically evaluate the importance of the orthodox participation in the Ecumenical Movement
• analyze and distinguish between the various trends of the ecumenical dialogue
• develop a critical awareness of the prospects and the problems of the contemporary Ecumenical Movement
• acquire knowledge of the important role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Inter-Christian and Inter-Orthodox relations
